The book »STIL« was created in the project »Encyclopedia of the Imaginary«, based on the story »Tlön, Uqbar Tertius« by the poet Jorge Luis Borges. The project deals with the »Second Encyclopedia of Tlön«, the 50 volume book art project by Ines von Ketelhodt and Peter Malutzki as part of the book art collection of the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. As with this complex of works, each volume of the university project is dedicated to a concept that is interpreted in book form with corresponding strategies, methods of representation, printing techniques, choice of paper… . The volume I designed and produced visualizes »STIL« (translation long silence) as a state of calm, lightness and serenity.
The text is Sunday, taken from the creation story of the Bible and rewritten in the language of the Tlönsche universe.
